1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using VariantTriage, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use VariantTriage for personal, non-commercial research and analysis purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, modify, decompile, or redistribute the software without explicit written permission.

3. Permitted and Restricted Uses

You agree to use VariantTriage only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment.

You specifically agree not to:

• Use VariantTriage for medical diagnosis, treatment decisions, or clinical care without independent professional validation
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or systems
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code
• Scrape, automate, or bulk download data from the service
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm any person or entity

4. Medical Disclaimer

CRITICAL: VariantTriage is NOT a medical device and is strictly for research use only. The tool does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Analysis results are not diagnostic conclusions and require professional interpretation by qualified genetic counselors or clinical geneticists. Do not rely on VariantTriage results for any clinical or medical decision-making without independent expert validation.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of VariantTriage, including but not limited to software, design, and documentation, are owned by VariantTriage, its licensors, or other providers and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your VCF files and analysis results remain your property. We claim no ownership of your data.

6. Payment Terms

• All prices are listed in EUR (€)
• License fees are one-time payments with no recurring charges
• Payment is processed through Stripe; credit card information is encrypted and never stored on our servers
• Invoices are provided for institutional billing upon request

7. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day no-questions-asked refund policy. If you are not satisfied with VariantTriage, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase by contacting hello@varianttriage.com.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VariantTriage is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

In no event shall VariantTriage be liable for:

• Errors, inaccuracies, or misinterpretation of analysis results
• Data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
• Loss of revenue, profit, or opportunity
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VariantTriage from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to VariantTriage immediately, without notice, for any reason including violations of these terms or applicable law.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Your continued use of VariantTriage constitutes acceptance of any changes. We will notify users of material changes via email when possible.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Belgium and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles.
